This Corporate Counsel article by Rene Laurens addresses the ever present challenge of controlling the exponential growth in electronic data and the need for remediation in Information Governance programs. The author addresses the interrelationship between IG and e-discovery, noting that good IG programs result in “less junk to collect, process and review” for litigation. Highlighting the fact that many of the tools used for e-discovery can be employed to conduct a remediation effort for Information Governance, the author walks through a workflow that would divide business data into three “actionable” categories.
