A Primer on Uniform Interstate Depositions and Discovery Act of 2007

Noting the need for most attorneys to conduct depositions or discovery out of state, Hermine Kallman of Lewis Roca Rorthgerber provides an overview of the Uniform Interstate Depositions and Discovery Act (“UIDDA”) in this JDSupra article. Ms. Kallman indicates that the UIDDA sets forth an “efficient and straightforward procedure” for conducting depositions of out of state witnesses and producing discovery information. According to the author, most states have adopted either part or the entire UIDDA thereby simplifying discovery in these states.
